I walked on the silent trail at dusk
All Natural roads, all natural fields,
No taint of solemn artificial light.
No Roars from lions of steel and gas
Only the moon and stars as my lamp.
The silent trail calls all who might
Need a lonesome walk into the night.
Earth, grass, and the gentle breeze,
They can bear all of your sorrows,
With the black of night, they fade.
